Pestana Bazaruto Lodge is on the largest island of the Bazaruto Archipelago, approximately 800km north of Maputo (the capital of Mozambique).

The island - carefully protected as a Nature Reserve Park - is a beautiful and unspoilt destination, characterized by its wild fauna, turquoise sea and idyllic beaches.The Lodge offers a unique combination of beauty, comfort and relaxation that makes it the perfect spot for nature lovers, divers, fisherman and water sport enthusiasts.

TRANSFERS
Flights from Maputo or Johannesburg to Vilanculos are available, followed by daily 30-minute air shuttle transfer from Vilanculos to Bazaruto Island. Transfers from the airstrip to the Lodge are by Land Rover / tractor/trailer - an approximate 5-minute drive covering a distance of 1.5km.

ROOMS
Pestana Bazaruto Lodge offers 40 “A-frame” thatched bungalows comprising:
    13 standard rooms of which one is a family room,
    23 superior rooms of which one is a family room
    plus 4 suites (with Bedroom and separate lounge),
Rooms are set amongst tropical gardens with magnificent views.

Every bungalow accommodates double or single occupancy and is equipped with:
    • Air-conditioning and ceiling fan
    • Private bathroom with enclosed outdoor shower

COMPULSORY
Full-board is compulsory all year round. Nature Reserve Park Fee ($10/per person) or 200 000.00 Meticais per person.

RESTAURANT
The Lodge has one main restaurant, and every evening African drums announce dinner. For lunch, a light meal can be served at the pool, or a picnic prepared for the beach. The restaurant offers an
exotic buffet or à la carté menu.

• Credit Cards - All major credit cards are accepted.
• Cheques - Personal, foreign and traveller’s cheques are NOT accepted.
• Laundry - The Lodge provides this service for a nominal charge.
• Telephone - There are no phones in the rooms -telephone facilities are available at the main Lodge.
• Television - There is Satelite TV in all chalets
• Airconditioning - all chalets are fully airconditioned.
• Health - Anti-malaria precautions should be commenced prior to arrival in the area. Clients should consult their doctor for specific advice.
• Park Laws - The island is carefully protected as a Nature Reserve Park and it is against the law to remove fish, shells, crustaceans, coral or any other form of nature off the island.

FLAMINGO Restaurant:
This is the only restaurant at the Lodge and dinner is announced every night by the sound of African drums. It is situated in the main building and has a capacity for approximately 80 persons. Mozambican and International food is served both À La Carte and as a Buffet. Our specialities are fish, seafood dishes and grills. It is open daily for breakfast from 7h00 to 10h30, for lunch from 13h00 to 15h00 and for dinner 19h30 to 22h00.Kiddies menu available and meals can be arranged before normal times

SUNSET Bar:
Open daily from 07:00 to 01:00, offering coffee, tea, international drinks, tropical cocktails and light meals.
Please note that at Pestana Bazaruto Lodge full board is compulsory all year round.
